How to Remove Audio from Videos for Instagram

If you’ve downloaded a video and want to share it on Instagram but need to remove its audio first, you’re in luck. While Instagram’s in-app editing tools are limited, you can easily mute or remove audio from your videos using various methods. Here’s a guide on how to do it:

Removing Audio from Videos Before Posting on Instagram

In Instagram Posts:

1. Open the Instagram App
Launch Instagram on your smartphone.

2. Create a New Post
Go to the post creation screen. You can either record a new video or choose one from your Gallery.

3. Access Audio Settings
After selecting your video, tap the audio icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen.

3. Mute the Audio
Tap the speaker icon at the top left corner of the screen. A line through the speaker indicates that the audio has been muted.

4. Post Your Story
Tap the “Next” arrow and post your Story. It will appear without any sound.

Removing Audio Using Video Editing Apps

For more precise control over your video’s audio, you might want to use a third-party video editing app. There are numerous video editors available for both Android and iPhone, including some with advanced AI features.

1. Download a Video Editing App
Choose a video editing app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Popular options include Adobe Premiere Rush, InShot, and CapCut.

2. Edit Your Video
Open your video in the app and locate the audio settings. You can usually mute or remove the audio track entirely.

3. Save and Share
Once you’ve removed the audio, save the edited video to your gallery. You can then upload it to Instagram without any audio.

By using these methods, you can easily remove audio from your videos before sharing them on Instagram, whether for posts or Stories. learn more
