How to Forget a WiFi Network in Windows 11

Windows 11 automatically saves a list of WiFi networks you connect to, along with their passwords and settings. This allows for seamless reconnection whenever you’re in range of a saved network. However, there may be times when you no longer need to connect to a particular network. In such cases, you can easily forget the network in Windows 11. Here’s how:

1. Forget a WiFi Network from Quick Settings
The Quick Settings panel in Windows 11 provides easy access to various controls, including WiFi, Location, Night Light, and more. You can use it to forget a WiFi network with just a few clicks:

1. Open the Quick Settings panel by pressing Windows + A or clicking the area on the right side of the taskbar.
2. Ensure that WiFi is turned on. Then, click the arrow next to the WiFi icon to display all available networks within range.
3. Find the WiFi network you wish to forget.
4. Right-click on the network and select Forget.

This method is quick and easy, but note that it only shows networks that are currently within range.

2. Forget a WiFi Network via Settings
You can also forget a WiFi network through the Windows 11 Settings app. This method allows you to manage all saved networks, even those out of range:

3. Forget a WiFi Network via Registry Editor
For those who prefer a more advanced method, you can use the Registry Editor to forget a WiFi network. Be cautious with this method as it involves editing the Windows Registry:

1. Press Windows + R to open the RUN dialog box.
2. Type `regedit` and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
3. Navigate to the following path:

`Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles`

4. On the left pane, you’ll see a list of folders representing saved network profiles (labeled with letters and numbers).
5. Click on each folder to view the `ProfileName` key on the right pane to identify the network.
6. Once you find the correct profile, right-click on the folder and select Delete.

4. Forget a WiFi Network via Command Prompt
The Command Prompt offers another way to forget a WiFi network. This method is efficient and allows you to remove individual networks or all networks at once:

1. Open Command Prompt by searching for it in Windows 11 Search. Right-click and select **Run as Administrator.
2. In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:

`netsh wlan show profiles`

This will display a list of all saved wireless network profiles.

3. To forget a specific network, use the command:

`netsh wlan delete profile name=’network name’`

Replace `’network name’` with the actual name of the WiFi network.

4. If you want to forget all saved networks, execute the following command:

`netsh wlan delete profile name= i=`
