How to Use Deep Sleeping Apps on Your Samsung Phone

Samsung is renowned for producing some of the best Android phones available, particularly the popular Galaxy series, which combines affordability with impressive features. One of the useful features on Samsung Galaxy phones is the ability to monitor battery health and activate battery saver modes to minimize battery drain.

During my experience with a Samsung Galaxy phone, I discovered an excellent battery-saving feature called Deep Sleeping Apps.

What Are Deep Sleeping Apps?

Deep Sleeping Apps is a unique feature exclusive to Samsung devices designed to help reduce battery consumption. It functions as an advanced version of Sleep Mode for applications. When enabled, this feature prevents apps from running in the background, thereby conserving system resources and extending battery life.

If you notice that a particular app is consuming too much battery, you can add it to the Deep Sleeping Apps list. Once added, the app will only activate when you open it, returning to a deep sleep state when you’re finished.

How to Add an App to the Deep Sleeping Apps List

Before adding apps to the Deep Sleeping Apps list, it’s essential to understand how this feature operates. Your Samsung phone automatically adds apps to this list if they haven’t been used for a while. Therefore, if you have some unused apps, they may already be included in the Deep Sleeping Apps list.

1. Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
2. Tap on Battery and Device Care.
3. Select Battery from the options.
4. Tap on Background Usage Limits.
5. Scroll down and select Deep Sleeping Apps.
6. You will see a list of apps already included.
7. To manually add an app, tap the (+) icon in the top right corner.
8. Choose the apps you want to add and tap Add.

How to Remove Apps from the Deep Sleeping Apps List

If you prefer a specific app not to enter the Deep Sleep state, you can easily remove it from the list. Here’s how:

1. Open the Settings app and navigate to the Deep Sleeping Apps list.
2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
3. Select Edit Apps from the menu.
4. Choose the apps you wish to remove, then tap Remove at the bottom right corner.

While the Deep Sleeping Apps feature is excellent for prolonging battery life, it does have some drawbacks. Apps on this list will not receive important updates, and you won’t receive notifications from them.

This guide provides an overview of Deep Sleeping Apps on Samsung phones and how to utilize this feature effectively. Learn More
