Microsoft is currently testing a significant update for the pre-installed Weather app on Windows 11, aimed at enhancing user experience and making the app more intuitive.
Key Changes in the Update
According to reliable Windows leaker @ChangeWindows, the update will introduce several notable changes, particularly to the app’s home page:
– The two existing advertising blocks on the home page will remain.
– The top bar of the home page will feature a new Fluent design with rounded buttons and updated stylistic elements.
– Users will now be able to switch between Light and Dark themes directly from the temperature unit selector pop-up, rather than through the previous pop-up menu. This feature may have some initial issues, but Microsoft plans to address them in future updates.
– A new navigation control will allow users to quickly access various weather details without the need to scroll extensively.
– A fresh light-colored theme will be introduced, featuring appealing color combinations.

In addition to the home page redesign, several sections of the Weather app will be updated:
– The “See monthly” button will replace the “See monthly planner” button, allowing users to scroll down on the same page instead of opening a separate monthly overview.
– The “Weather Insights” section will be renamed to “Weather Details,” providing information on Cloud Cover, Dew Point Temperature, Wind, Air Quality Index (AQI), Visibility, Moon Phase, and more.
– A new Weather Maps section will include a set of updated controls.
The redesigned home page will also introduce two new ad blocks in the Monthly section, along with a dedicated area for weather trends that displays historical weather data for specific locations.
While the overall functionality of the Weather app remains unchanged, Microsoft is gradually rolling out this update, so some users may not have received it yet. For those seeking additional weather information, the MSN Weather app is available for download from the Microsoft Store. Learn More
