How to Restore Windows 10 File Explorer in Windows 11

The new Windows 11 File Explorer design is more minimalistic, but Microsoft has removed many useful features that were present in the Windows 10 version. The old Windows 10 ribbon-style File Explorer provided access to a variety of features and quick actions.

If you’ve recently switched to Windows 11 and miss the Windows 10 File Explorer, there are a few ways to get it back, though you’ll need to use third-party apps.

Restore Windows 10 File Explorer in Windows 11 without any tool
If you don’t want to install a dedicated app, you can use a nifty trick to access the old Windows 10 File Explorer:

  1. Open the Windows 11 Search and type “Control Panel”, then open the Control Panel app.
