Admittedly, we have sent WhatsApp messages to pals on multiple occasions to ask where they are so we may join them. However, either they do not respond, or after informing us that they are somewhere, they shift, making it difficult to locate them.
WhatsApp therefore added a location-sharing function to prevent this circumstance. You can share your current location with other WhatsApp contacts using this feature.
Using WhatsApp to Check your friend’s real-time location
1. First of all, open WhatsApp on your Android device.
- Now open the contact with whom you want to share your real-time Location. Next, tap on the attachment icon
-
From the list of options, tap on the Location.
-
Now, you will be asked to grant the location permission. Grant WhatsApp the location access.
-
Next, tap the Share live location option, as shown below.
-
Now set the live location sharing time limit. You can choose between 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours.
-
Once done, tap on the Send button. To stop the location sharing, tap on the Stop Sharing button.
This is how you can share your real-time location with your friends on WhatsApp. You can even ask your friends to share their real-time locations. In this way, you can track them in real time.

Other Ways to Track Your Friend’s Location?
You may share messages with your contacts using a few different instant messaging apps than WhatsApp.
For instance, you may quickly see your friends’ real-time position on Snapchat. Additionally, the Telegram app has a similar location-tracking capability.
In addition to instant messaging applications, there are numerous Android location-sharing apps that let you see your friend’s true location.
