How to Use Distraction Control in Safari (iOS 18)
Before you begin, note that the Distraction Control feature is only available in iOS 18 Public Beta 3 and later. If you’re currently using iOS 18 Public Beta 1 or 2, you will need to update to Beta 3.
To download and install iOS 18 Public Beta 3, go to Settings > General > Software Update and install the pending update.
Here’s how to use the Distraction Control feature:
1. Launch the Safari web browser on your iPhone.
2. Navigate to your favorite website where you want to test the feature.
3. Once the site loads, tap the Page menu located in the Address bar (it appears before the URL).
4. From the options displayed, select Hide Distracting Items.
5. Confirm your choice by tapping OK on the Hide Distraction items prompt.
6. You will then be prompted to select the items you wish to hide, such as text, pop-ups, banners, or ads.
7. After making your selections, tap Hide to remove them.
8. Once you’re done, tap Done in the Address bar.
9. To view any hidden items, tap the Page menu again and select Show Hidden Items. If the items don’t reappear, try refreshing the page.
